The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPAR) assists faculty and administration in obtaining external funding for the advancement of scholarship and research, institutional development, and student services. Toward this end, the OSPAR:
  • Provides services and resources for identifying funding sources
  • Offers pre-award services and advises on and facilitates preparation of grant proposals
  • Collaborates with administration and faculty to promote interdisciplinary teams
  • Works with sponsor agencies and offer post-award services to manage grant funds

Identifying Funding Sources:
Across the University of Sustainability ecosystem, we can help you find government and private funding sources. Information on major funding sources and programs can be found here and in emails we send out. Please contact us to let us know about your interest area and to make sure you are on our directory.
Through OSPAR's list of funding sources, you can register to receive targeted funding notices via email or text message from the Sponsored Programs Information Network (SPIN).
SPIN's cloud-based searchable database can be accessed by registered researchers at any time and can be customized to perform weekly searches based on your keywords and other criteria. It can be searched by keyword, funding type, sponsor, and a host of other criteria.

Preparing Grant Proposals:Putting together a competitive grant proposal can be a daunting task. To make it easier, we can help with:
  • obtaining guidelines and application materials
  • interpreting sponsor guidelines and regulations
  • responding to requests for applications (RFAs)
  • talking to program officers/sponsors about the project
  • drafting budgets and budget narratives
  • editing proposal narratives
  • institutional information/sample narratives
  • navigating The University for Sustainability internal approval processes
The key to accessing these services is to contact OSPAR should you have an idea for a proposal.

Facilitating Interdisciplinary Grant Proposal Teams:
With its Artificial Intelligence search technology, OSPAR works to identify across the University for Sustainability's global research ecosystem member strengths and to assist faculty network with each other. We also coordinate proposals for major institutional projects that involve multiple institutions.

Non-Discrimination Policy*
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights." These simple but powerful words are the first line of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations in 1949. The declaration’s power has always depended on our collective will to uphold its noble aspirations.
The University for Sustainability does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability in any of its policies, procedures, or practices, in compliance with Title VI of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. This non-discrimination policy covers admission and access to, and treatment and employment in, the University's programs and activities. The University recognizes its obligation to provide overall program accessibility for disabled persons.
Nothing in this policy shall abridge academic freedom or the University's mission. Prohibitions against discrimination and discriminatory harassment do not extend to actions, statements or written materials that are relevant and appropriately related to course subject matter or academic debate.
This policy governs the conduct of all University for Sustainability students, faculty, staff and visitors that occurs on the University’s facilities or in connection with University-sponsored programs.  This policy also governs conduct by University students, faculty, staff and visitors that creates, contributes to, or continues a hostile work, educational, or living environment for a member or members of the University community.
